12.012 – Daan’s Supershredder

Daan was looking for bike that could replace both his downhillbike and his rigid Kona Unit. A bike to eat up winding singletrack and to play on in bikeparks, and with that a pretty wild geometry. The long reach combined with the very slack headtube angle of 64º creates a fairly long wheelbasis and a very stable platform. Because of the 120mm fork and a nice central seating position (due to not too short chainstays) the bike still is very playfull and rips on Dutch singletracks. I have chosen for a slighty thicker Reynolds 631 tubeset, a brace behind the headtube and thicker fillets. The dropouts are fully custom and hold a 12mm axle. Daan built up the bike with a 1×7 drivetrain on a singlespeed hub, a RS Pike 120mm and orange parts that contrast with the RAL 4011 powdercoat.
