I will build the Victor from now on under the UNpaved Cycles brand. Victor is a steel, handbuilt, filletbrazed short travel full suspension with a bespoke geometry and size. Technical specs Mk3: Complete bikes are possible and prefered. Raw, unfiled fillet Finished fillet, after filing and sanding

With travel between 80mm and 100mm and a swift playful geometry this is my go to bike for the Dutch XC loops. The rear shock gives better traction, control and comfort than a true softtail, but it still has that hardtail feel. Victor just takes the edge off.
My prefered XC+ layout is with a sturdy 120mm or 130mm fork (SID35, Pike, Fox34 or Intend Samurai) and a modern geometry. A 66° or slacker headtube angle and a longer reach with a short stem won’t make it any slower on the classic XC tracks, but it will be much quicker and a lot more fun on the techy stuff, like the famous trails of Finale Ligure.
